Viet Nam organizes conference on tourism promotion by land and airway Viet Nam – Laos – Thailand

On September 21, 2015, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in collaboration with Nghe An provincial People’s Committee organized Conference on tourism promotion by land and airway Viet Nam – Laos – Thailand 2015 in Khon Kean Province (Thailand), with the support of Consulate General of Viet Nam in Khon Kean Province, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Laos National Tourism Administration.
The conference aimed at introducing destinations in Vietnamese North Central Coast, including world heritage sites in the region; strengthening linkages among provinces of the three countries for tourism development by land and airway. The conference also provided a platform for Viet Nam and Thailand’s enterprises to discuss on tourists exchange by land and airway, and for enterprises of the three countries to seek cooperation agreements in tourism business.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Chairman of VNAT emphasized the warm traditional relations and cultural similarities between Viet Nam, Laos and Thailand. He believed that with abundant and unique tourism potentials, the three countries possess favourable conditions to market themselves as one destination. Tourism development via land, air and waterway has been focused in the region, especially via East - West Economic Corridor. Thanks to the intensified cooperation of ACMECS countries in recent years, traveling by air, land and waterway has been facilitated. After arriving in Viet Nam, tourists can easily proceed further into other countries in the region, including Thailand and Laos.


This event was a good opportunity for Viet Nam, Thailand and Laos to elevate cooperation in exchange of tourists, diversifying tourism products, developing “three countries - one destination”, attracting international tourists from source markets, fulfilling commitments in the framework of ASEAN and AMECS in support of the establishment of ASEAN Community in the coming time, Sieu added.
