Phu Quoc terrain lock like a carp so it has another name Kotrak ( Doa Dai ). This is island has several parallel chains of mountains from the north to the south. The highest mountain is Chua, 603m. The forest in Phu Quoc has many kinds of valuable woods with large 12.500ha . Phu Quoc has a lot of seafoods and sea products but the famous is Phu Quoc fish sauce. The landscape of Phu Quoc is attractive tourist development with many places such as Duong Dong, Thom beach, Khem beach, Da Ban stream, Tranh stream, etc.From the city, visitors could arrive to Phu Quoc by high speed canoes ( time table 2h45 ), and normal canoes ( time table 8h)
The domestic vehicles in island are cars and motorbikes. The car for hire is 800,000 VND -1.200.000 VND / day, motorbike is 90.000 VND – 110.000 VND / day, high – speed yacht around 1.500.000 VND – 2.700.000 VND / day ( including lunch ).

Gathers the most ships and boats in Phu Quoc of 21 islands. It is located at the Den mountain’s foot where the light house was built to guide ships and boats in Phu Quoc. There are many seafood processing factories here and Phu Quoc fish sauce is very famous.

It has the light house built since French colony period and “ Kim Thien mother boat” sanctuary facing An Thoi port. There are large crocodile slab of stone and Ninth Aunt’s ( Co Chin’s ) grave who found the sanctuary. We can see the panorama of An Thoi with many small and big island lying among the sea’s very blue color.

It is 2 kilometer far from An Thoi port to the South and lies in An Thoi valley. The French colony built “ the Coconut Palm Jail” in the Souht to detain people who against it in 1953. Sai Gon quisling rule built a new gaol called “ The comunist prisoner Jail” with total land area of 40 hectares where about 4.000 people were killed. However, up to now, only nearly 1.000 remains have been found. Tourists themselves can see the American quisling’s cruel torture instruments.

Just out from Duong Dong’s estuary, and the temple at the top was dedicated to Cau, God of the sea. There are Thuy Long ThanhMau Temple at the bottom and Bai Keo – Cua Lap on the right an Ganh Gio Dune with rows pf verdant coconut trees. The water under CauCastle is limpid with clean sand make Cau Castle’s panorama more beautiful, more desolated and sacred.

Sung Hung Pagoda connected closely with the history of shaping Duong Dong town. At first, it was built of trees in 1890 and later rebuilt with building materials, officially named “ Hung Hung ancient pagoda” in 1924.

Cua Can is Nguyen Trung Truc’s last revolutionary base. The temple was built to dedicated to Nguyen Trung Truc after he was executed and later, it was rebuilt spaciously. Each year, on the anniversary of his death, many tourists attend this festival and burn incense to pray for Nguyen Trung Truc.

Originates from Ham Ninh mountain range, attracts tourist who like discover the nature’s mystery with its 3 – layer fall. Tranh stream is the large eco – tourist area of Phu Quoc island.

THE PHU QUOC NATION PARK:
The primitive jungle has 929 kinds of plants, 144 kinds of animals on the land area of 370 square kilometers. It is ideal for sightseeing tour and rest. From the top of the God Mountain ( about 565 meters high ), tourist can view the impressive panorama of Phu Quoc island.

It is built in the less wave Gulf region and used for fishing ships as a shelter in the rainy and stormy reason. Crabs here are deliciois and well - known. The sea grass and Dugon reserve is in the South of the Gulf. There are many Phu Quoc’s speialities here: fresh seafood, dried fish, sea – horses, sea dragon, handicrafts and pearls.
BAI VONG TOURIST PORT ( HAM NINH COMMUNE ):
It is a lare – scale port, has sufficient services for tourists coming here through sea route. It is surrounded by the white sand – bank and verdant willow tree rows running in the curve. Tourist can go to places of sightseeings through sea route from the South to the Norht island.

It is the estuary of a very beautiful river in Phu Quoc island, originates from HamNinh Forest and flows into the West island’s sea. Water in the river is very fresh in the rainy season. In the west – southwest wind season, the estuary is filled up with sands so it is bound to open more ways for big boat junks. Cua Can is the last revolutionary base of Nguyen Trung Truc insurgent army and has many antique relics of the post – Oc Eo perod and the pre – Nguyen period. The rock spur jutting out over the northwest is a part of Bai Dai mountain. It lies in the virgin beach with white sand and pushes its back to the primitive forest where many ancient diesel trees live in Ganh Dau Point is 1.3 kilometers far from the Cambodian Nang Ngoai island. Ganh Dau’s scenery is very impressive and beautiful when the sun sets.
THE STAR BEACH ( AN THOI TOWN ):
It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Phu Quoc island. At the end of the sand – bank is the ancient An Yen beach with many rock’s odd sharpes where swallows often build their nests. The sand is like thousands of twinkling stars when the sun shines on it. Tourists can enjoy fresh and delicious seafood dishes after seabathing.

Starts from Ganh Dau Point’s sea with 15 kilometer long and smooth gold sand – bank to the spur of ChaoMountain. It is surrounded by Bai Dai mountain range with green virgin forest. There are vivid outstandings point of the landscape thanks to some spurs of rocks jutting out over the sea. There is a high – class tourist area project at Bai Dai.

Extendsfrom Ba Keo Canal to Dam Road, is very bautiful and attracts the most tourist in Phu Quoc Island. There are many hotels, resorts and luxurious restaurant serving tourists who want to take a rest.
PHU QUOC PEAR FACTORY:
It was founded 15 years ago by an Australia couple where oysters are grown in culture medium for high grade pearl to make jewelleries exported to European countries. Beside the showroom for introducing and selling product in the fram’s precinct is the coffee bar served tourist.
THE ORIGIONAL POINT SOUVENIR SHOP ( TRAN HUNG DAO ROAD, DUONG DONG ):
Is is set up by Mr Huynh Phuoc Hue where Phu Quoc’s handicrafts articles, jewelleries, souvenirs are displayed and sold. Besides sea eagles and Phu Quoc dogs are raised in the shop’s precinct. The shop which is designed by its ovener looks like a special mini art gallery.

Phu Quoc fish sauce produced from fresh while herrings is well – known for its tasty favour and high quality. Tourists can come to many famous producing factories like Thanh Ha, Quoc Hung, SACCO to see the fishsauce producing process that is Phu Quoc’s pround traditional handiwork.

Lies in An Thoi archipelago with 124.4 hectares of corals and precious sea creatures in Dong Ngang island and some surrounding islands. Tourists can dive to see and anjoy colorful corals and numerous kinds of fish. Tourists can ask restaurant’s chefs to cook dishes of fishes that they themselves catch. Dong Ngang island is the place for sighseeing, seabathing and camping.
FAR ISLAND EXCURSION THO CHAU ( THO CHAU COMMUNE ):
Tho Chau is Kien Giang’s fathest island offshore. Tourists can go to this archipelago consisting of 8 islands from Rach Gia or Phu Quoc by ship. There are some place – names conecting closely with emperor Gia Long period: Bai Ngu, Gieng Ngu, Bai Vong, etc. Wild Geese gather on Hon Nhan ( wild goose island ), lay eggs on the soil and are not frightened by strangers. No settlement in Kho island, Tu island, Cao Cat island makes the excursion to explore the island more attractive.
